Ordering Parts

Two weeks ago our timer went out on our clothes washer. Well I went online and ordered one that was on a Sunday eve. The wife and I agreed to pay the extra $25.99 to have it shipped & received in two days. Well on the third day now Wednesday, at 3pm the part still wasn't here. So I called them.
The young girl I talked to told me, well the part has been on back order and we just received them in today. I told her why didn't we get an email stating this because we paid extra to get it in 2 days. Well sir we have them in now and you will get it in two days. I told her I wanted to talk to her boss, after being put on hold for 3 minutes she came back and I was told he was at a meeting, but she could waive my $25.99 and I would receive the part in 3-5 days. I was mad but agreed. The part came in 5 days. An experience like this just makes you more prepared for the next time. At least I have clean long-johns again...LOL!

wow, bad deal.
Last part I ordered I passed on the expensive 2 day shipping and got the part the very next afternoon....

Had a similar situation with JC Whitney and expedited shipping, they charged me for next day air then waited 2 days to pack it, they wouldn't waive the fee so when it finally showed up I refused delivery, so then they're out the freight and didn't even get the sale. Some times you have to be a bigger jerk than they are. But you're dealing with Whirpool, a company that has downsized the heck out of it's work force but still isn't smart enough to get out of Michigan.

Delivery time seems pretty much random, no matter what you choose. So I always go with the cheapest (USPS, if possible) and usually get it withing 2 days.

John,
Today is Tuesday though, 11/27/2012, are you sure you are not a day ahead? Your post shows 11/27 also.

I ordered a new camcorder for Christmas for the wife a few years back. Payed extra for overnight shipping as was close to the 25th. I tracked it on line it went to just about every major city in the lower 48 then off to Alaska after about 5 or 6 days I was wondering if I would ever recieve it. Then the UPS truck drove in and there it was a few days late but not in Alska.
I wrote and told them that the next time they send my camera on a world tour to please take pictures for me.
Walt
PS I don't pay for expedited service anymore and get my stuff faster.
