The one on the left looks like the Savage model 99 .308 my Dad used to have. It had a rotary magazine that was a real PITA!

I agree with the Savage 99 choice. My "lever" gun of choice (personal preference) is a Marlin 336

I'm from South Dakota and I've never heard of a northern plains pheasant retriever nor did I find anything listed with AKC.

John, the two tractors are to keep me on topic.
Casey, I hunt in Turton S.D. pop 61 every fall, the guys out there helped me figure out what he is. He ain't much of a hunter but he likes S.D. as much as I do. Thanks for responding. Ellis
