Well I bucked out this morning

Went out deer hunting this morning. sun rise was 6:50 and I shot at 6:55. We have a 4 point rule here and this buck made it hard on me. I could count 123 on both sides of the rack but it has to have 4 points on at least one side. I kept counting 123 but could not see a 4th till he looked at me and then my rifle went bang. He had a total; of 8 points not a big one but still a nice one. So since you can only have one buck tag here in Missouri I bucked out this morning so now have to go after does

Congrats!on a successful hunt.So I understand you can still hunt for does?Here in Co.,you are only allowed to get one animal/year.One deer,one elk,one antelope,one sheep(if you draw)....You need a speacial 'tag' to get a doe or cow(elk)

Good for you!! I"ve spent probably 15 hours out there waiting on them so far this year......have yet to see a doe. Looks like the EHD was really hard on them this past summer. My neighbor found four dead ones in his corn field just across the road from me. They had not been shot either. I"m getting tired of waiting on them.

Here in Missouri you can get one buck per season with gun. 2 bucks with bow and as many does as you want to buy tags for. Tags for the does are $7 each and in my case my first tags are free since I am a land owner and have more then 5 acres of land. And body with 5 to 74 acres of land gets free bow tags and frees any deer tag then there after you buy the rest. If you have more then 75 acres you get more tags for free

This one is the 2nd deer I have taken so far this year. Did not do much bow hunting and for the most part only been going out in the afternoons other then opening weekend and today and those days I went out in the morning. Seen a few I let walk by due to not having enough points but have yet to see any does to shoot at.

Here in Salida you can get as many as you want, but can only use the Jeep,F250, or one of the farm trucks. I'm looking at about 30 head as I write. Deer are thick in town.

Nebraska, you can have atleast 1 buck, maybe more, don't know that for sure, but all the whitetail does you can afford. You get a bonus tag with the buck tag, for 1 whitetail doe, plus I have a "season choice" tag for 2 more whitetails either this week, or at Christmas.

Here is my buck. Last Friday morning, he made a scrape 50 feet from my back door while watching a doe very close. He has been bedding in a woods about 1/8 mile from my house or behind my house in 5 acres of tall weeds and briars. Woods owners are very hateful even if people act like they are looking in the direction of his woods.

In Indiana, archery season came in October 1 and runs through first full weekend in January. Firearms starts November 17 for about 2 weeks. 1 buck limit for the year no matter what type weapon and doe permits vary by county with up to 8. I asked around at the check stations and processing shops and all said the numbers so far are way down this year. Economy, EHD?

Ya saw on the news that deer taken is down by around 20% so far this year. I did find 2 dead deer that died from who knows what today one small buck and one doe both just bones so months old

The reason the numbers are down is because hunters cannot afford a $40,000 4wd,crewcab truck,$8,000 atv and trailer and a $800 gun that is required today for the townies to be comfortable while hunting for a $100 deer.
