Newark tractor show, England

I have just returned from a few days in England at Newark Show,
once again it was excellent with over 600 tractors, most indoors
or in marquees, though the weather was great for the time of
year. I will post most types of tractor pics here but have also
posted on the Ferguson and MF sites. I picked out a few green
ones for JDseller and others and even managed to find a few IH
machines for the rest of you!. You will see we have quite a
number of American machines in preservation here. I will post a
few every night for you to discuss. I do hope you enjoy the pics
as much as I enjoyed the show.

Thank you, very enjoyable. Speaking just for myself, we see Farmalls and Deeres every day. I would really enjoy something new, like European tractors, Lanz"s, etc.

Sam I really like the super sharp JD 1020 and 2120. The others where neat to look at too. I really like to see the different things used in different parts of the world.

Thanks for putting the photos on here, I am one of the orginisers of the show and as you can see we had a good selection of tractors. The nice John Deere A was recently restored by a vicar (preacher) from the next town. MJ

Well spotted Sam, the P3 was a conversion for the H and W4, also the L4 was a conversion for the M and W6. I orginise the feature tractors every year and this year it was Perkins Diesel conversions. MJ

I have a Nicholson tedder that was made in Newark England.

Can't find teeth for it anywhere.

... you didn't happen to see any weird looking tedder teeth lying around on the ground there, did you?

:)

There is a "Howler" in one of Michael Williams (Otherwise excellent ) tractor books. It shows a photo of a tractor captioned as an International BMD when it is obviously an M with a Perkins L4 in it.

I think I've seen pictures of a W-4 with a P3 before but I can't say I've ever seen an M with an L4 (although I can't honestly say I'd know what I was looking at if I saw an L4). Seems like they'd be a good match for the tractors. That is one of the things I find missing most in tractors around my area. There are almost no professional add ons to be found. The odd Sherman step up/ step down in an 8N but that's about it. Thanks, Sam
