Am in the process of refurbishing a 1953 Golden Jubilee s/n naa 74610 while soda blasting the frame there is 3 layers of paint red, red & blue is the base color on all of the metal?? Pretty sure the blue is factory applied it’s the only base paint that on all the castings very difficult to remove.
Just wondering if anyone else has ever come across this?? Talked to a local long time Ford dealership parts man said anything possible but he had never seen this.
Any replies would be appreciated.

I can't speak to difficulty of removal except that it is dependent on the cleaning job and the primer under the paint. What we do know though, is that updating old red belly Fords to the new modern blue was very common. I believe that it was last week that someone posted here that they had found an old Ford advertising flyer promoting the service.

pinkie........the original NAA Golden Jubilee came from the factory with RED (vermillion) castiron and light grey sheetmetal with red trim on the raised bumps. (many think the grey has a slight olive green tint) Many dealers repainted "trade-ins" the latest Ford colors to make the older tractors eazier to sell.

I say its yer tractor, paint it enny color (except Green and Yellow) that pleases you. ........Dell, yer 20/20 painter (looks good at 20-ft ...or... 20-mph)

it didnt come from the factory blue, but it is possible a dealer, or even the owner repainted it to make it look like a newer model tractor, my jubilee is blue and cream, somebody in the '60's apparently liked the color, and painted it, ive kept it the same color as we have a bunch or 'corect' N series tractors still working around here and while the jubilee looks different i like to keep it different the original color on mine is the standard red though

Thanks for the replies all the front half is completely stripped down to the castings lots of blue paint !!
