First time picking corn. Pics galore

We picked our corn , we are a very small operation and just in it for some fun for now. We will be expanding here soon. enjoy the pics and comments are welcome. We yielded a good bit, but the deer and birds took a nice chunk. O well the deer will be feeding us all winter so it works hahaha. My dog flushed two ringnecks out of the corn early then was running around all day. He tuckered out and slept in my truck for a while. Hope you all enjoy!!!!!

Great pictures. I have said this more than once on a lot of posts on here, "You can"t beat having a good dog" or two or three.

Great pics!
That's the way I remember picking corn too. Took us forever it seemed!
Always wished we had one of the two row mounted pickers so I didn't have to
crane my neck looking back all day. Until I used one, that is!
What are your plans for the corn now that you've picked it?

We picked one field and that gravity wagon was my buddies, we
filled it for him and i'm getting a check tomorrow. The rest will be
stored in our barn for feeing chickens and some deer corn, maybe
hogs if we decide to get them

My Dad always said: "If you have one dog, it will probably be a good dog. If you have two dogs, you just have two worthless dogs."

Neat pictures. First time picking for our family was by hand, one ear at a time following the wagon. That would be even more "educational" . The mechanical picker looks much more fun though.
Folks around here now call it "shelling" corn. I still think of it as picking.

We had a Ford picker which wasn't great by any measure, except perhaps initial price, but it certainly husked and sent much less trash into the wagon than your machine. Perhaps the snapping rolls or fan isn't adjusted and or working correctly.

(quoted from post at 06:07:57 11/12/12) My Dad always said: "If you have one dog, it will probably be a good dog. If you have two dogs, you just have two worthless dogs."

Grandpa always said "you have one dog, you have a dog, you have two dogs you have half a dog, you got 3 dogs and you ain't got manure!"
