Hi Guys I am in Manitoba Canada. I think this is a sign of the times the tractor market is dead up here too. I used to sell fordson majors for $5000 restored for acreage guys. These guys aren't buying land like they used too, as the return on the dollar for livestock is down due to feed costs and it's cheaper to stay near town for work than comute 100 miles a day from the country. The tractors dropped to $3000 last year if a guy came to look. Now I can"t give them away and am just doing things for my collection. I personally think the price of parts is killing our hobby A $1000 dont go anywhere now with tires and stuff. The price of fuel is killing transport in getting stuff home and to shows. As a younger guy(38) restoring stuff I find the older guys I used to ask if I was stuck, and that used to buy this stuff a lot are pushing daisy"s. There also aren't many of us younger guys that want or can afford to do this anymore either sadly. Regards Robert |
