Auto mechanics???

Buddy at the local ag dealer wants me to order one of these for him but asked if there was anything better or something not as fancy but has the same functions.... Any tips appreciated. It's for his son, he just finished his schooling and starts his apprenticeship as a mechanic.

Hello dave2,
It is a ery nice unit, but it cover up to the 2008 model year.
If he is just starting out, it may serve him well.
I'm sure the company or other mechanics would have the latest testers in the shop.

Hi Dave..Any idea what he is going to be working on ? He might better better off with a Snap on Red brick or Solaris used off ebay . Updates avail and pretty good coverage for most makes . Plus some bidirectional controls which really shineson the newer stuff .
