Guess all those government subsidies ran out.
It's 12:15 a.m. here and those durned lazy farmers are running their combines
up and down my land pickin' them beans.
God bless 'em!

Ya gotta do whatever it takes to make a livin' (As long as it's honest,of course) Glad you're gettin' it done before the weather takes a bad turn.

They were picking corn next to our place the last two nights. Tried to go out an get a couple photos of all the lights - looked really neat. But the pics did not turn out.

Well if the GOV had there way them LAZY farmers would have to be in bed and taking there 10 hours off duty so they would not go over there LOG BOOK hours .

Sounds like they'd better get done before tonight. Up to an inch again they say. I had two and a quarter over the weekend. Looks like at least next week before I bale any stalks.

probably some of those guys trying to keep the american poor folks downtrodden by growing them food at a profit. should be ashamed!!!

I don't know how much they have left to do total, but don't think they'll get done before the rain.
They finished up here and across the road early this morning, (1-ish) and quit for the night.
Doesn't take them long. They brought three JD 9770 combines, three semi trucks
two or three tractors and grain carts and a couple pickups.
Regular traveling caravan.
Used to take me weeks with a one row picker and a single gravity box!

You think farmers are the only workers that put in long, unusal and hard hrs? You need to be in the concrete ready mix business for awhile.I've been on concrete pours every hr of the day every day in the week at some time or the other and big slabs where the pour goes on for 12 hrs+.

No, actually I know all to well that's not true.
I switched employers last year, and one of the reason for switching was that
other than taking a vacation, I had not had a weekend off in over 8 years.
I do the same work for this employer, so I still work some weekends and have
quite a few after business hours tasks. It's just part of the job description.
8 hours a day in the office, 5 days a week, mainly planning and preparing for
the the work I'm going to do after hours or on the weekend.
On the bright side, it pays for my tractors! 8)
