Well, I just felt my first earthquake. It was a rumble from a little way off first and then we started shaking, fortunately not enough to cause any damage, but I bet that it is the strongest ever for New Hampshire. The time was 7:13 PM Eastern time. Wife is reading on Facebook it was felt fairly widely.

They also had a very minor earthquake near Dallas last night. I believe the ones in Texas are caused by oil companies Fracking. When I was a kid I grew up withing 100 miles of New Madrid, MO. We experienced several 5.5 earthquakes there.

We had bigger after shock in 89 at the SF 7.1 quake. We were
still shaking 3weks later when I came back to Oregon.
I don't want to be in one like that again.
Funny thing I was taking to a friend and neighbor the other day
and he was in the same quake just a few miles over the hill
from where I was.

Scroll down a little & see the North American Craton pic.
The east coast lies along an edge of the craton.
There's movement all along the edges.

Rt 40 near Rt 22 north east of Troy NY.,was closed today. Rocks the size of houses fell into the road, and closed it off. Not sure where you guys live.

That happened yesterday around 9am in Fort Ann, NY. The pictures are amazing. They don't believe it had to do with any earthquakes or blasting from the local rock quarry.

What I read in our paper said they think the rain loosened the soil and caused that rock slide, lucky nobody was caught
In it.

I am up in Maine, 10 minutes above Portsmouth, NH.
Funny thing here is that the last few days we had been noticing things in the house falling over, settling.
We all thought we had a ghost!

Now we know it most likely was tremors and I see from the Fed quake map on the 10th there was another quake too in eastern Canada.

I heard this deep rumble while i was sitting in the basement like a really big heavy piece of equipment was moving by outside. lasted like 10-15 seconds it seems.
