Remember back this summer I had a peacock show up on the place. Well today my wife and son went to a local swap meet they put on 2 or 3 times a year and brought home a Peahen for Mister Peabody so maybe I will now be raising peacocks along with the chickens. Was told to keep her in a pen for 3 weeks before letting her roam but guess I'll find out then

Did they tell you what they paid for her? Just curious, I've been wanting one for our blue boy but they are so darn pricey. Mine roams free too, he has no reason to leave since he's well fed. Dry cat food, his dinner of choice.

She got lucky on her. The wife payed $38 for her the guy wanted $50 but my wife only had $38 left so he said ya I guess so I do not want to take her back home. My peacock has the chicken feed the cat food and then what he can find out in the horse pasture so guess he too is well feed

Yep, she got a bargain....at least compared to what they want here. Rarely if ever do you see them for under $100 which is why Pepe doesn"t have a girlfriend!
Yea mine gets more than dry cat food. He gets chicken scratch twice a day, but he has to share it with my guard rooster. And all the bugs he can catch. He follows me around on the mower and snatches up lots of crickets that pop up from the grass flying.

Have a friend who says he will buy from me if I start hatching any eggs I get from her. I do plan to try to take all the eggs she lays and put them in my incubator so that I know they get taken good care off and maybe see what happens. He is a blue peacock she is a white one so never know how those would turn out
