One of my old cans got stolen last year I need at least 2 cans. The junk she found at "walmart' was almost impossible to use on the VAC. It takes at least 3 hands to use it. Regardless, you can modify them. There are a couple youtube shorts that show how, but in short you can get some long nose pliars, and pull out the inters of the handle,, drill a 1/2 hole in the back, and pull from the inside a tire stem. Remove the stem valve, and the cap works pretty good. My advice would be to check craigslist or garage sales though, that would be cheaper.   [Reply]  [No Email]

Oh they can not call them that anymore. They are square or round and have a vent cap. I buy the round five gallon. The two gallon are square. I have been using them for years the farm. One where the shank is smaller than the threads. Drill a hole in the back corner of the plastic can, a lil' bigger than the shank. Screw the DWS in. When you tip the can to pour, the screw will tip enough to admit air around it. Set the can down, gravity will close the hole and prevent mass evaporation while at the same time preventing balooning the can on a hot day. NOT OSHA APPROVED, YMMV, worth what you paid, etc, ad nauseum.   [Reply]  [No Email]

Evaporation occurs when a liquid's vapor pressure exceeds ambient pressure. The only way to prevent evaporation is to seal the container airtight and allow it to pressurize.   [Reply]  [No Email]

End up just taking the spout off and using a funnel from the 1950s for my grandfathers McCormick. Heard also of one of these plastic cans bursting, no venting. I got out my 35 year old Eagle can with the spring handle and attached funnel. dumps in about thirty seconds. Then I got a second one.
