Gilbert in IL's wife here. Seeking info from anyone that has experienced Army worms before - found an area today where the worms were thick - can tell by damage done - they have either moved on from that area, or were eaten themselves as there is scat everywhere in the area - the picture shows two of the worms that are left there with the scat also in the picture - doesn't seem to be deer or rabbit, any idea what the army worm predator is? Also, locals are saying that the worms hit this year due to extreme dry condition, followed by wet. Today is chilly (50's, low 60's) and misting all day, seem to be fewer worms. Is this a life cycle event for them, or will they burrow in the cold. Have received mixed opinions as to spray for them since so late in the season. Noticed them 5 days ago, damage is present, but not devasting. Is this the end of their cycle, or should we spray to prevent complete loss of pasture?
