8n Tractor problems

I have a friend that wants me to "Fix" his 8N. He knows I work on my 3020 so...
He has changed it over from 6 volt to 12 volt. Says it runs rough and over night will drain the battery.. So What off the top do I need to check.. Figure Ill ask first then lator.. THANKS

Sounds like a bad alternator with a bad diode. If it is a 12 v generator he needs a new cut out.

mss3020........ennytime you have suspected alternator problems, taker into autoparts store for "free" checkout. Make a pictorial wiring diagram BEFORE you remove the alternator, understand??? ........Dell, a 12V advocate that knows 8-ways to convert to 12V and they all work the first time

Some place there is a short but need more info to help you help your self. If it has a 3 wire delco 10si it maybe wire wrong or have a bad alternator. If it has a one wire alternator then it is bad or again something is not wired right or has a short
