Tried posting a pic of an interesting, old article yesterday, but it came though with too small, and with too low of a resolution for many to read. Someone said I needed to post, basically without letting the site's settings take over the post. Anyone know how to do this?

Hey Wayne.

Did you know that you can upload jpgs directly from your computer?

Also files intended for display on a moniter should generally be 72ppi or thereabouts because that is about what can be displayed.

If you are shooting with a digital camera use the lowest resolution. Your page should be about 1 meg.

Hope this helps,

Brad

Photobucket is probably your best bet. It may compress your JPEG a bit, but it won't resize it. And you can then embed the Photobucket image into your post so it looks like it's part of the post.

You need to resize the picture to 600 x 400 pixels or 400 x 600 depending on the orientation of the picture. That should make it the right size to view.

If you have a decent camera that will get in tight, I'm wondering if it would be better to take a closeup of the page. The resolution would probably be better.

I'm not sure Wayne, but I do know that the site here tends to set a picture to the size that's correct for the forum so it can really make it blurry at times. I assume you scanned it from your home computer/printer/scanner and saved it on your hard drive? If so, could you email it to me so I could see if I could read it? I really would like to be able to read it fully, looked very interesting. My email is open, try it that way and we can see if it works or not.

Photobucket

I do not remember if I scanned this page and emailed it to myself or took the image with my camera. Anyway, I downloaded it to my hard drive and imported it to my photobucket account and from there to here
