Enjoyed your pictures!! I didn"t want to hijack your thread but wanted to ask what the Amish in your area allow you to do with the camera...I noticed none of them are looking directly at or "posing" at the camera.

Where I have my farm, they don"t have a problem with picture taking, but will not let you take a direct straight on picture of them...they feel a "portrait" type picture that we would hang on the wall of a family member is a sort of "worship" of that person...not allowed of course.

I have old order Amish near me. I guess the various sects all do things a bit different...

You are right... These don't want to look at the camera either. They don't mind being in the pictures as long as its not a shot of just them in a portrait like manner like you suggested.

I was wondered the same thing. Amish around Mid-Michigan and thumb area that I interact with shy away from a camera.
