Anyone familiar? Neighbor has one. Left side seems to be ok, but right side only crawls. Can only mow at about the spped of a slow walk. He was told the hydrostat pump is bad and it $900.00 for a new one. Is there a way to rebuild or something specific to look for? I know NOTHING about these pimps.
Thanks!

An actual model number is needed. There are to many different hydro setup on these to answer with a general statement answer

I had just bought myself a low houred 717A this spring. I had the exact same thing happen to me- pony up the money and buy a new hydro. I used to be the lawn mower tech at the Deere dealer and always held those mowers in high regard prior to leaving, so thats why I bought it. I had my former service manager talk with DTAC on the issue (with my mower having less than 100 hours on it) and Deere came back and said basically that failures happen from time to time and thats the way it goes.

If its one pump and two wheel motors. Then the valving or wheel motor would be suspect.
Can the wheel motors be traded from side to side to verify?
