Been offered a 1985 Honda Big Red 250
in excellent condition. Will just use it to
run around my 50 acres. Any of you guys
have one? Do you like it?

I have a 84 200aes or eas or whatever the letters are. It's electric start and shaft drive. I used it like a tractor pulling trailers cutting wood in areas to small for the big tractor. Loved it until the engine seized. But I have another one waiting to go in, just need time to do it. I miss it for chasing cows that got out!

Most Honda stuff has a good reputation and my Big Red is no exception. Mine is one of the last ones , an 86 model. 15,000 km and still running the original rear tires. It is geared pretty low which is good for checking fence lines and crops or pulling a heavy load. I don't usually run mine over 65 k/per hour on the roads. Good on gas and doesn't use oil . They have a nice ride. Some video of mine taken this summer here...

Got one! Like it! Use it every day! If you're not familiar with three wheelers, take it slow and easy until you get the hang of it. They'll dump you if you do something stupid. . .

Arguably the most reliable product ever to come out of the Honda factory. All the time you see 25 year old Big reds, walk over, pull the rope and off they go.

I have one and have run it hard....I used it for 5 years to haul heating wood...I used a trailer that was 4 by 7 and loaded it heavy..probably about 1500 lbs. and it always pulled it up and down hills. I think you should go for it..you won't regret it!

Picked up a 200 for my dad to run around on. Havent put a penny into. Paid 600 for it a long time ago. For your 50 acres I think it would be perfect. Could you buy something bigger and faster? Sure, but if the $$ is right it will be fine.

I've got a 1984 "Big Red", it was the first year Honda made them and the only year they came with the 200 engine.

I like it, but I do wish the engine was bigger.

It doesn't seem to be quite as snappy as my 185.

I have an 85 I bought new. I have replaced the tires 3 times, I also have 2011 model 420 four wheeler. The big Red is a better built machine and LOTS of more fun to ride, Snoother, Easier ride, quiter, and more manueverable. After 26 years I would not take the money back. paid 1700 dollars at Abernathy's at Union City Tennessee.
