MH 44 almost done

I am hoping to have the 44 running on Sunday. It has been apart for 6 years. I have fuel line, linkages and new wiring to hook up.

I turned it over with the starter tonight. It worked it pretty good with the M&W pistons in it.

It has been interesting following along with your project on here. If you don't mind me asking, where did you find a set of M&W pistons?? Did you have good sleeves or find a set of new ones?? How about rings?? I have a 44 I want to put M&W's in this winter, I have new sleeves, but I need pistons and rings, good luck on your project, I hope she runs like a watch!!

Mike, I got Arias to make a set of forged pistons with the 4" diameter and the M&W profile on the top. I ran it for about 1/2 minute tonight, it sounds good.

I am not showing any oil pressure. There is oil flowing out at the pressure gauge tap, but no pressure to speak of. I think there is an issue with the relief.

I do have a set of used M&W pistons that I might let go, we can talk more if you are interested. You would need to hone the cylinders out to 4 1/16 for those pistons.

I would be interested in them if there in good shape, I found a bran new set of 1-1/16 sleeves last winter with pistons and rings, but they don't have the domes like the M&W's. I have heard that new rings are available but I haven't looked for any. It would be interesting to know what you have for compression. Stock compression for a 44 gas is 120 psi. thanks, will keep in touch.
