Looks to be a pto cover but its very heavy.
Not cast, but heavy steel. Must be for a very old tractor.
Any idea the make or model this belongs to?

Covers the starter gear on a Model T. Bolts to the back side of the transmission cover. Just put one on an engine I rebuilt recently.

What year is it? Is it a sedan or what?

That is a 1923 coupe that is being painted at the moment.

It is probably a PTO cover for an old John Deere. I think I may have had one for an old JD B I had years ago. Looks familiar.

shaft cover for an old combine ? looks too short for a PTO. Run the numbers, and name I can't read in your search box.

Never seen one exactly like that. Not to sound like a smart axx, but I would finish cleaning the dirt off it and see if there may be any ID under there.
