Picked this up at the Somerset Steam and Gas show over the weekend in VA. Came with a belt driven pump.
It has a partial sticker on it with a yellow picture of a hydraulic cylinder with a horse head and tail on it. Cannot read the name.
Any idea what make it is? I want to put it on my 51 VAC Case as my shoulders are making it harder to steer. I do have room to put it in the steering shaft and will drive the pump off a double pulley on the alternator.
Thanks for any info. Only paid $40 for it and the pump.

There should be a model number stamped into it.

I have one on my Cochshutt 35 it works great. Can steer it with one finger. They cost about $3500 just for the motor add pump and hoses and you can by another tractor.

That's a little rich on the price of a torque generator- I just googled it, and Surplus has them for $505- another outfit has them for $499. And you could use any junk yard automobile power steering pump, for less than 50 bucks.

They do work great- I also have a Cockshutt 35 that I plan to put one on.

Thanks Allen. Just came in from the shop and in the daylight, I could see "Char" on the tag. I feel good about it now.
Any problems I should look for? I will try it on low pressure before I go to the trouble of cutting the shaft on the tractor.
How do I know which end goes toward the steering wheel?
Richard

The end with the hose manifold goes to the steering wheel.
