Time of day makes a big difference too . My 847 would not feed dry oat straw at all yesterday but by 10:00 pm the humidity was up enough that the straw just rolled up and into the bale chamber perfect. I've had the same problem with hay on a hot dry day. |

| It will bale it, providing it's not too dry and brittle, My 851 will bale anything, except extremely dry grass, I plugged mine 3 times on late first cutting that had too much dead grass in it, if it's green, and a full windrow, you should be fine. |

| Those old balers will bale just about any thing. Big trick is the size of the windrow and the speed you run the tractor. To slow and you get a very heavy bale to fast and you get a bale that is not very tight |
