Tractor pull picture from Montevideo

Wife and I took the GREAT detour and finally found the city of Montevideo Minnesota on the 17th of August! I went to the tractor pull that Friday evening. It was the Gathering Of The Orange, so lots of Allis Chalmers around. This D21 hooks up. It was getting dark, so the picture taking became complicated, to say the least-I had to keep the camera moving so the tractor was in relative focus-nothing else is! Couple of days back I got a PM from the owner, says he is using this picture as his backdrop! Glad he liked it, hope you do too!

Really nice picture. Did you have the camera on a tripod or do you just have really steady hands? The tractor is very clear for something moving fast in such a long exposure.
 
No tripod. I used to carry a 'monopod', but one venue called it a weapon and would not allow me in with it, so have not used that for several years! I like to take nature pictures, so practice the 'steady but moving' poise quite often when taking a moving bird or deer!
 
Very nice picture, especially for a long exposure tele-photo shot! The Allis-Chalmers D21 is very legible as the background moves 2 1/2 to 3 feet. Does your camera use a shake-reduction feature or do you have an extremely steady hand? That's a shot to be proud of!
