I remember hiking with my girlfriend in Northern Alberta and out of nowhere came this huge brown bear charging us. Was she mad.
We must have been near one of her cubs.
Any way, If I had not had my little Jetfire I would not be here today.
Just one shot to my girlfriends knee was all it took.
The bear got her but I was able to escape by just walking at a brisk pace.
It's one of the best pistols in my collection.

Yep, them little guns are nice. Still, all you really needed was a nice pair of running shoes and you could have saved the bullet....LOL

That is why I always go hunting and hiking with people older and slower than me. I don't have to out run the wild life just the one slower guy. LOL

That would be the whole point, of the jest! You don't have to out run the bear, just the other food source!

g damn, don"t care who you are or where you are from ( canada here ) that is one of the best posts i hav ever read yah really banged her there bud

It is highly recommended to wear bear bells when in bear country..kinda keeps the bears away..how do you know when you are in bear country? You will notice bells in bear scat!

I can see the humor in your post, Bendee, but I personally don't find it funny. Scouting where to put a logging road in, another guy and myself came face to face with a cow moose with a calf only a few hours old. There was literally less than 50 yards between us and her. We backed away slowly, then ran for all we were worth, and holy @$%^ were we lucky to get out of that one. I carry a 300 Win Mag now whenever I'm in the bush. The .45-70 gets a little heavy after a while. About a month ago, also spotted a black bear sow with 2 yearling cubs in the general area we were working.

Oh no, it don't work like that. Them young guys keep taking me up there and everytime a bear comes, they run and yell "Bear, let it get Mark", but bears run pretty fast and always shove me down in the mud and go after the younger, tastier, meatier challenges. All I ever do is pick myself up and go back to camp and clean up. Works every time.
