Great stuff. I remember the song, of course, but I like the visuals with it.
Yep, guess I'm a genuine geezer- I remember all of that stuff. I remember putting a cigarette load in some guys smoke (used to smoke across the street from the high school)- He thought it must have been an air pocket, or something. Nowadays, of course, you'd get expelled for even saying "cigarette" in school, much less having them.

Yep. In fact you can still hear Jimmie Fortune of the Statler Brothers at the Fortune-Williams Music Festival in Staunton, Virginia each fall.

Thanks for posting link. That is a fun site - love the Burma shave signs too and the Woolworth menu.
We were not even born until in the 60s, but husband loves The Statlers. We have a lot of their music either via i tunes or through albums of husband's which I converted to digital format.

Thanks, Roger. I sure did enjoy it! I have several vinyl LPs (remember those?) by the Statlers. I guess my favorite song would be "Class of '57" because I am a member of the Class of '57.
