I just built this trailer and have it listed for sale in the photo classifieds. Going to build a couple more larger ones next time I'm home. |

I could sure use a trailer like that! Nice, by the way, what model case is that? looks like a coyote lurking in your yard. Bernsie

Thats NOT a coyote, that's Baxter, the best dog ever! And it's a 56 case 400 deisel. And the trailer IS for sale so help yourself!

That's a very well built aluminum trailer! Curious why you didn't cut the tailgate frame at 45 deg. or cap the ends of the tubing? That and painting the coupler are about the only things that would make it look a little better. It shouldn't be hard to sell though.

45 deg cut ends aren't as strong and in the past when I've capped the ends they have gotten water in them and froze and blew out the tubes. And I didn't have any silver or aluminum paint but will get some. I just wanted to get it for sale as soon as posible.

Nice job, really looks solid. Here in PA there's a big difference between 3K lbs and over 3k. The truck in the background makes me think you probably understand DOT rules, but be sure you do.

I'm sure they are simmilar here. Over 3000# has to have brakes and break away kit. This axle actually has electric brakes on it but I didn't wire them because most people who buy this small of trailer don't want the hassle or expense. If whoever buys it wants them I'll do it up tho.

IIRC, few years ago the MN Legislature changed rules to any trailer CAPABLE (not necessarily loaded with) of hauling 1500 lbs must have brakes.

Do you have insurance on yourself, in case a wreck occurs cause a trailer tire came off? Too many lawyers out there to not have insurance.

I designed aluminum pallet forks for a small loader, mine work good. But I didn't make any to sell because if they were put on a bigger tractor somebody could get hurt if/when they broke. Insurance preminm was gonna be 5K a year.
