Love the sign. It's funny how this same problem holds true regardless of the percieved problem. In the construciton world I'm always hearing about people that buy a house near a quarry that's been in the same place for 70 years. It's like they think the quarry can dig the hole up out of the ground and move it somewhere else just because some city slicker bought a house without doing their homework.

That sign should be prominently posted in every real estate brochure and real estate section of every newspaper!

That sign could also apply to a couple of my cousins.

Don"t know why you would need a sign. Here in liberal NY we have in most counties what is known as "The Right To Farm Law". Basically says that as long as the farm is located in ag zoned area, that any and all reasonable, customary agricultural practices are permissable and there is no recourse for complainers. I don"t know if it is law or not but prospective lot or homebuyers have to read and sign a document that they have been informed of the law and are aware of their limitations.
CAFO"s and Puppy Mills have permitting issues, but general agriculture is safe.

Reasonable and Customary are the words that opens the door for the lawsuits in AG Districts.A GOOD Lawyer and a town jury can make farm life very expensive.

Reminds me of a short story.

There's a little airport next to me here. A city sliker bought a small farm about a 1/2 mile off the end of the runway.

They were out there one day looking at the site they wanted to build a house putting flags in.

Owner of the airport went by and stopped to ask them if they knew what they were doing.

They said they didn't mind the airplanes.

4 years later they asked if the airport could change the flight patterns.

Owner said we've warned you and we've been here for 35 years.

City slicker sold out.

It may be worthwhile to know that the legal principle of "coming to the nuisance" has been overturned by big money interests in some states.

The trend is likely to continue.

I heard of a city slicker that bought a piece of property in rural Minnesota. At the end or along a poorly maintained township road. Had to drive past a farmer that had a lot of old machinery scattered around that he was no longer using. This city slicker built a nice house and lived in it a couple of years and decided to sell it. He somehow forced the township to upgrade the road to his property. Then went to the county and complained about the farmer. The county made the farmers life a living H e l l until the farmer had his property up to the city slickers approval. City slicker them made quite a bit of money on the property and moved on.

Just copy the words and go to the closest sign shop and they will make one (or more) for you.
