i own a 1949 farmall h with what I believe to be a factory installed power steering. Is this common or was this an add-on. If so how rare is it. also has an add-on 3 point. curious as to its value.

to my knowledge there was never a factory power steering on an H. Maybe some of the Farmall guys on here know more , but I have never seen one. Lots of aftermarket units, but no factory ones. If it has been done well and looks to be a professional installation it probably doesn't change the value any. If any part of it looks a bit rough it would detract from the value. The same is true of the 3 point. They both would add value if the buyer is looking for a tractor to use, but not to a collector.

Value is dramatically changed by rear tires. If they are 50% or better, and not checked badly, the tractor ,is probably worth 2400 in some locations and 1600 in others. If the 3pt is commercially made it will add 400 (included in my guestimates. Jim
