should I buy bolens ht20

I am getting ready to purchase a bolens ht20. before I do I would like to know if parts are readily available for this tractor. I don't want to buy it and have to have parts custom made if needed. Any other info that would help me decide would also be nice.

Thanks,
M

I have a 27 HP Bolens. It is a great tractor. Parts are hard to find. The motor is used in a lot of boats and that is where I find engine parts. They don" make the larger tractors any longer. Just lawn mowers.

Bolens is out of business.

MTD bought the name to put on there stuff.
They don't support much for parts for the old tractors they didn't make, such as your HT20

Parts are out there, Google Sonny's Bolens for parts and manuals. Some popular and common stuff is available aftermarket from Stens. There are other places, but thats the one that comes readily to my mind. Google is your friend :)

Engine should be Kohler, any Kohler engine dealer can get parts for the engine.

If the price is reasonable, and its in good shape, everything working, I'd go ahead and buy it, its a strong tractor.

Bigger compact tractors were made by Iseki. Most parts for those are still avialable from an Iseki Dealer.

I don't mean to hijack the thread, but have you got any good leads on where to get parts for my '49 Bolens RideMaster?
It's a Wisconsin engine, no problems yet with engine parts, its other parts I'm looking for like a gas tank.
Didn't see much on Sonny's for anything that old.
Haven't found much with Google or on eBay.

Just so you know, Sonny's doesn't exist anymore. They were up the road from me. A friend went up there to see about a Bolens part and said the family told them they aren't in business anymore.
