I don t post much on YTmag, but I sure do like to read the good message you good people post.
Lots of good info when needed out here in the Country.

After I retired I started collecting hammers.
I have them all cleaned up & hanging in my shop.

Now I know when I can never find a hammer when I need one- its probably on your wall!

Nice collection, and Happy Birthday!

Nice collection of hammers old timer. Have any Heller brand on on the wall?? Figuring you are a Texas guy I would see some raw hide ones? A man can never have tooooo many hammers as long as they are USA ones. Many more birthdays!!

Very impressive. Sadly the only one I recognize is the Stanley with yellow graphite handle.

I wonder if there's someone out there that collects nails ?

You two could really "hit" it off.

Happy 83rd birthday to you.

Very impressive collection of hammers you have there.

Thanks for sharing your photos with us.

What part of the eastern Republic do you call home?

Happy birthday Hammer Man, Hope you have many more. I am also interested in old hammers, and have a few Blue Grass, Plumb, True Temper, and others that I used over the years doing Carpentry. I am sure you have some I have never heard of. Your collection looks great.

What a nice collection! Happy birthday and many more. When I saw the pick axe I thought about the days of my youth when I used a pick axe to chop the ice buildup away from the cattle water. I didn't know the proper tecnique at the time and the ice would fly up in my face and mouth with every swing. I spit a lot of dirty ice out of my mouth but I never got sick, and you can imagine what was mixed in with that stuff. Jim

Larry,
In this photo you can see A 8oz. body hammer.
That is the last hammer I got. I now have 443 total. About to run out of room.

Number 368 looks to be a 16 or 20 oz. Belknap Blue Grass straight claw.
I wish I lived close by, I would like to see your collection.

Yes, our farm is in NE Texas between Daingerfield and Mt. Pleasant.

If you want to spend an interesting day close to your home, go visit Sam Adams in Tatum.

He has a variety of Farmall and JD tractors and all kinds of other vintage equipment.

Happy Birthday .... Your collection is very impressive I too like hammers and collect them but I dont have near as many as you.
Tony

PM: You are right.
The # 368 is A Belknap Blue Grass straight claw.
I have good many more of the Blue Grass hammers & hatches. They did not make any more after the late 1950. It is A collectible item.
