dad just took 700 lbs of general scrap steel to the yard today (upstate NY - capital district) and they were paying $10.50 per 100 lbs...not an all time highbut still pretty good.
just figured i'd throw it out for people to see.

thats not too bad, but back home last load i took in in WNY i was gettin 250 a ton which i thought was really good

Scrap copper is around $2.50 per lb.
I think scrap Aluminum is over $1 per lb.

I was getting that last summer ($250). Been stocking up since then so I have no idea if its up or down now.

I took a load last Sat. into Syracuse- $280/ton for scrap steel . (old clothes dryer, other misc junk)

Finally took the old golf cart batteries in the other day. 20 cents a pound. 6 batts weighed 362 lbs, $72.40. Made me happy, and I don"t have to stumble over them anymore.

don't know about steel, but the new guy in town is running a special on pop cans this week, .80 cents a pound.got about 300 hundred pounds on truck for the am run.

Here in Western Kentucky, took off some scrap aluminum and an old 8d battery. Got 42 cents for the the aluminum and triple price for the old 8d, which for the battery was 21.70.

Lets hope the loss of vintage farm equipment is kept to a minimum. Hopefully, most of the unrestorable stuff is already gone.

225.00 a ton mixed and down the road 40 miles they pay 120.00 a ton, somebody is making money.

225 / ton for shred in Toledo at Omnisource at the moment. Have hauled just shy of 9 tons this past month. Have one more load to go.

I took in a load yesterday in Syracuse, NY. Got $297 per long ton (2240lbs)for tin/mix. It was $305 a few weeks ago.
