Sry took so long, been away from the 'puter a couple o days, but to answer your question: I'm hauling a JD 555 3-14" hydraulic plow. The old girl will haul a 4-14" and has hauled a 4-16" but I finally got over my testosterone overload, and now see that my Father was right all along: "we are doing this for fun, not a living, why make 'em work so hard?" so now I usually take it easy on the tractors, alot of work went into 'em (not to mention $$$$) so about the only time any of 'em strain too much is on the sled occasionally!
Ground was pretty hard here in So. Tier of NY Sat...lots of guys had a hard time gettin' the plows in the ground and keepin' them there...now after 2 days of rain, ground would be perfect!

What part of Southern Tier of ny are you in? I live in a little town called Wellsville. Soil aint real hard here but go bout 18 miles into PA you start getting into hardpan

You along the Genesee River? I thought the hills were tough there and suffered some soil loss after Hurricane Agnes in 1972?

Yes i am less than a 10 minute walk from the river. The river is on the west side of the valley and I leave on the east side of the valley
