Belarus the fix (250AS)

Well I pulled the floor pan off so as to get the things better. Found that the forward/reveres shifter was so loose it would let the shaft slide in and then not seem to shift like it should. Tightened up the lock bolt which fits in a cone shape hole and it shifts just fine and is now nice and tight. The guy also wanted me to disable ti diff. lock so I simply removed the small pedal so it could no longer be pushed down

Why did he want the dif. lock disabled? I have heard of some people damaging them by stepping on the pedal when one wheel is spinning. Lack of common sense, or they just don't understand what is happening in the differential. Maybe some will take it, but I won't take that chance, only takes a second to push the clutch in!

He said he had problems with his foot hitting it when he was using it so he wanted it so that could not happen so I did as he asked me to and just simply took the pedal off and put it in the tool box. It would be very simple to put it back on with just a single pin

By the way you can get to that bolt to tighten up the forward/reverse shifter from under the floor board from the right side. You would need a long extension and a 12mm socket to get to it. I took me 2 hours to find out about what was going on but if I had known it would have been more like 15 minutes
