Started cleaning up around the place today. Started in the house (attic and a junk room) because we gotta get folks in to give estimates on a new roof. Unbelieveable the junk you can accumulate when you take that "may need it later attitude"..
3 4x8 utility trailers full of boxed up magazines and papers
2 of the same trailer full of good clothes that don't fit anymore
3 6x12 with 4ft sides completely full of just junk

found a couple neat things that we couldn't part with but they all fit in two laundry baskets. On a role now. Starting the workshop tomorrow and another room while I still got the throw it away attitude. Just so much stuff it's embarrassing..... End of the week I shoukd be pretty much done (I hope)...

Found 3 Farside collection comic books tho.... That's what I's doin, along with a few beers this evening

Done now.....

Congratulations on getting rid of the things you have been
hoarding. It is amazing what accumulates over the years.I try to
clean out yearly.

Ain't happenin again....... when the new roof goes on, the attic is getting a smaller access door without steps.......
Workshop gets 2 big trash cans for metal and anything else. And there ain't gonna be no more rainy days....... Felt like an idiot driving thru town so many trips with all that junk.....

(quoted from post at 11:54:14 04/17/12) Good work. What sort of tipping fees do you get charged? Here its $125 a ton.

unsorted junk is about 140/ton... But most every town has a recycle point where paper, clothes, shoes, metal, batteries, and glass is free.

(quoted from post at 12:00:50 04/17/12) Remember the less fortunate and also recycle whatever can be recycled in your area!

The less fortunate in this area are too lazy to take advantage of someone helping them out... Asked someone about the stuff and they could really use it.... Guy said, "yea, just bring it all and put it right there"........ Made damn sure I went by his house and he saw me as I was headin to the dump......

Too bad, ....I guess a large minority in my old homeland is way too spoiled.... was sooo different after the last war....!

Just outside Schweinfurt, 30km from Wurzburg. Not far across the country roads from Gmunden (other side of the Spessart from Aschaffenburg)........

Dave, I go to A'burg about once a year on business., and then South to visit the inlaws. I'm thinking fall this year I will be in A'burg. Be nice to met and have a beer or three. The Wimen folk can chat it up, as well.

where's your inlaws?

I think we talked about that looong time ago.... but it seems things are coming back(?) bit by bit...

BTW, if you like to take a trip into the Spessart, there is in Dammbach a great place Waldhotel Heppe. "extra grosse Stuecke Kuchen" and great warm dishes, too. (unfortunately, no relation to me or my Family.....lol)

Ralph Bauer in Oklahoma.

I see I sparked a epidemic on the other side of the pond. My problem is I work for the evil scrap company so it's always so tempting. Good luck and may the force be with you.

(quoted from post at 17:45:10 04/17/12) We only pay $20.oo/ton.Delta County Landfill.

Just did the monkey math. In dollars, it is about $180 a ton for unsorted...
much cheaper to free (depending on what) if you take the time to sort.

You wouldn't know this place if you were just joe blow driving by. Probably the nicest looking place in the area. Think they have a website in english with pics.... I'll see if I can post it later......

Dave --- Dave!
Yer People Skills are showin' agin!
