I have a mod 2001 loader in need of help. I need a seal kit forthe bucket tilt cylinder (cyl. part # 380447-R1)cylinder is discontinued, no info from Case IH. It seems that once an item is discontinued it's history is no longer needed.
If anyone has the seal kit number or a cross ref number or a kit itself please let me know'

Thanks Bill

Take the cylinder to a hydraulic shop, they'll be able to fix it, ask them when you pick it up and they'll tell you what parts you need to reseal it. Next time they'll sell you the parts so you can do it yourself.

Thanks for the info. The kit should be $25-$50. the shop is $125 hr plus making it my last choice. I understand the option it's useable but leaks and I can buy a lot of lfluid for the cost of a shop rebuild but hatnks for your reply.
Thanks again
Bill

"It seems that once an item is discontinued it's history is no longer needed."

Nope. The parts books for MANY discontinued IH products are still available, online even. I believe we now have access to the same information that the parts guys do.

Unfortunately not all of the books are "in the computer." The 2000 and 2001 loaders are not available. IH made so many things over the years it's understandable that they don't have EVERYTHING...

Your IH parts guy needs to look in the actual PAPER books for the parts you need, at least to get a cross-reference for the seals and whatnot...

Your logic that you "can buy a lot of fluid for what a rebuild will cost" only holds up as long as the cylinder does. Eventually you will HAVE to get the cylinder fixed:

Instead of spending $125 on a fixed cylinder and $0 on spilled fluid, you spend $125 on spilled fluid AND $125 to fix the cylinder... Doesn't make any sense to me.

$125 is a far sight cheaper than a whole new cylinder, which is also a possibility if you let this go on too long (i.e. scored, can't be fixed).

380 447 R1 is a "Head, Front" for the cylinder, and probably has been discontinued.

The complete cylinder assembly is 380 818 R91. Book says it's 3.5 X 16.

The book shows 471 271 R91 is a "Package, Hyd. Cyl. Service". It contains:

1 of 350 818 R1 O-ring
1 of 354 836 R1 O-ring
1 of 364 885 R1 O-ring
1 of 378 735 R1 O-ring
1 of 380 910 R1 O-ring
2 of 380 913 R1 Ring
1 of 381 086 R1 Seal
2 of 378 734 R1 Washer
1 of 380 912 R1 Washer
1 of 652 604 R91 Wiper

The kit is no longer available from CIH according to Messicks' website. It appears that the parts from the kit can still be ordered individually. Some of the numbers have changed.

2001 loader is in books LDR-1 or IND-3. Tell the dealer to dust off their microfiche cards or find a parts book. If they won't do either, find a dealer who will.

Try Baum Hydraulic, this should be the kit you need.

I need to rebuild the cylinders on my 2000 Loader this summer and will try to order there kit. Best of luck

Go to a bearing house with the old seals and they will match them up. Bearing people also sell seals to for a lot less.

I put a kit in a loader lift cyl a couple weeks ago. Not sure if it was a 2000 or 2001 but it was not listed in the dealers computer. Parts man still had old paper books at home and he came up with a kit.
