Fertilizing before spraying for corn and beans

Would I be ok to put some amonia nitrate, map and dap down before I get the farm sprayed. About 90 acres of corn and 65 acres of beans. Thank you

Ok I was just making sure. Its my fourth year doing grain. Im 23 with my own operation and like to run questions by older wiser men. Thank you

Not yet, this farm has had cattle run on it and hay taken off of it for years and years. I am going to lime it this fall, should have done it last fall but got behind. I figure the soil tests will be better this year than last. I should get them back tomorrow or the next day.

Don't ever apologize for asking questions Reid, it never hurts to bounce ideas around. I'm a young farmer myself and ask as many questions as I can, sometimes I'm treated like I should know the answer and made to feel alittle inferior but at least I asked the question and gained a little information. As to fertilizing before spraying, I put down my starter and anhydrous about 45 days back and will follow the planter with luxuor and touchdown on the corn ground this year (the idea behind luxuor is that 1 application will be sufficent for the year, no post later on down the road). If I had known a little sooner I could have had it put on a week before planting and added some 2-4D into the mix. On the bean ground I'm going with a 2-4d, authority first and glyphosate burn down tomorrow looking to plant 3-4 weeks out.

We put liquid N right in with the herbicide, work it in, then plant. You need to time the Urea with rainfall to get the most out of it.

I only meet your 1st consideration, have enjoyed your questions and comments around here. :)

The nitrogen portion of many types of fert likes to evaporate into the air if it doesn't get rained into the ground, or worked in with a field cultivator/ disk/ harrow/ etc.

The weeds typically di not get too big between now & the time you spray, so should work fine.
