Well now it's possible for me to drop two hammers at the same time. lol?.Just got it from a swell dealer .Victors is a long slide, the other one is a 5" barrel. Hedging on inflation is what it amounts to along with Home invasion Protection. All newer pistols are Stainless steel. looked up value of the weapons we have and it's amazing the prices they bring in todays market. We had a REAL HARD TIME trying to locate any SS 1911, Talked with over 25 dealers, and they can't get any SS1911, So we really lucked out. Had a big dealer with 9 stores. lie to me that they would innerstore transfer one up to the dealer close to us. Was assured it was on the truck and would be in the store 23rd or 24th. Would call so we could go pick it up. Phone rang 23rd , guess what No Shipping gun up here. Waiting and waiting then they called and said no luck. None available. Any way to make a long story short, Victor found a dealer who had 2 1911s. Now we own 2 Springfield 1911 s in S/S/
Pays to be patient. Now I'm ready for what ever comes along. Do you guys use fire arms as a hedge against inflation? Just interested to know.P.S. How many carry a similar weapon on your tractor for protection? regards, LOU.

Nice pistols. Nothing fancy here, just a Hi-point .40 JCP. She sleeps right next to me. Made in Ohio, n has lifetime warranty!

Lou my CC gun is a 1911.....but my tractor gun is a Ruger MarkII 22/45 (.22 Mark II with 45 style grips). Good little gopher getter.

High Point firearms aren't all that bad. A lot of "purists" view them with disdain because of the low price, but I have a 9mm pistol, .45ACP pistol, and a 9mm carbine.

They've all been functionally flawless.

Someone mentioned the investment factor. I'm not going to say in print how many firearms I own, but I can go down the list and not one is worth less today than when I acquired it, some selling now for 2-3 times what I paid.

More guns than I know what to do with. Plus reloading equipment for all the calibers I shoot. I have a lifetime supply of powder, primers, lead and bullet molds to make my own bullets if needed, but I have more jacketed, factory bullets than I can ever shoot as well.

I am still using powder from 1980 that performs perfectly. I also bought up a bunch in the 90's when slick Willie was blustering gun control. All stored in styrofoam containers. Primers are vacuum sealed.

Looking good! Best looking stainless 1911A1 I ever owned...or saw....was made by Wyoming Arms. Had a FFL for a long time ('til Mr. Clinton talked me into giving it up) and bought it at a DEEP discount; trouble was, it was unreliable; finally traded it in on a Chinese-made parkerized one. I think Wyoming Arms went away in the early '90s.

I had the 9MM carbine that I bought new for $110. I wish I had kept it - perfect size for my sons now. Never had any problems with it either.

I also have the 9mm carbine and have been quite impressed--I wouldn't have stepped out and bought one but it came as part of a larger "package deal" and I've kept it. It's a fun plinker and would certainly work in a pinch for either self-defense or varmint control. On the other hand, a friend has the .40 S&W pistol and it's been a total piece of junk--parts break, the safety won't stay where you put it, and it will seldom go more than a couple of rounds without a failure of some sort. On the flip side, they've been VERY good with warranty service--he calls them, gives them the serial number, tells them what broke THIS time, and they send him the parts, usually free of charge and mailed that day.

I've thought about the .45 carbine, but they're hard to find.

I may go for an AK-47 for my next firearm purchase. I understand there's an SAR-1 model that has most of the parts manufactured in Romania, but they're assembled in the U.S. with enough domestic parts to qualify as made in the U.S., but I haven't been able to locate a source. I've heard good reviews, and they supposedly sell for around $400.

Does anyone have any info?

Here's my govt issue 45, an Ithaca...along with a really clean SKS that I just sold to buy my wife's Beretta .22 45 has been in my family for 3 generations and is a sweet shooter

Great looking pair. I thought at first the top one was a Commander. But I know Springfield doesn't make one like the one you have so then I thought it was a Colt with springer grips. Then I remembered Springfield made a 6"bbl and then it all made sense.

Thanks for all the replies.I see alot of you have some nice pistols and rifles. Some don't care for the plastic ones, but as long as you have something that you enjoy, more power to you,I will never complain about someone elses choice in weapons,as long as they are happy with them.We onjoy ours, and it is a fun pastime target practicing. Regards,LOU
