anhydrous already?

Theres a guy who is puttin on anhydrous already. Is this guy nuts or what? Anybody got predictions on how this year is gonna go as compared to the last four or five?

Gosh if the conditions are good to go, why not? The closer to when the corn uses it, the better. So now would be better then last fall. Again I emphasize. The ground conditions have to be right.

Met a truck pulling nurse tanks on highway this morning. Looking for big operators (thousands of acres) to start on corn next week. Todays seed corn will come up after weeks in the ground.

Yeah, this guy farms about 10,000 acres if my memory serves me right. Last year I planted some sweet corn in the garden early and it laid in the ground for close to three weeks. I was getting ready to till it under and I noticed a few shoots comin up through the ground, it still weren't nothin worth savin as it was pretty patchy.

in our area of nebraska; crop ins says we need to wait for april 10th to plant corn. what date is everyone else?

About 1/2 the NH3 goes on every fall around 'here'. We freeze up hard over a typical winter. Typically not enough time in spring to get it all done. This winter not much frost & not much moisture, we have all been puzzled what to do. A lot of NH3 went on eventually, but not sure it sealed in & attached to anything.

I go for spring application, as my land gets too wet in the spring thaw, don't think much N would be left.

If this close to planting & the soil conditions ar eright, perfect timing to get the N on I would say?

Getting close to an inch of rain today, by far the most rain I've seen in southern MN since July.

Paul, we got close to an inch here between Storm Lake and Spencer. Add that to the near inch we got about ten days ago. Like you,it's the most we've had for a long-long time. My creek is adtually up off the floor a bit and the tile by the bridge is running for the first time since last July or so. Today I'm loading big bales that are stacked right by the lane on the edge of the field and it's still working. It's on top of a knoll and the ground has just enough frost to hold the tractor up. Truck has to stay on the road but it's real close to the stack. Snowing like crazy right now (9:15 Central) but it's only going to accumulate an inch or so. Jim

There is a product called N-Serve that is used with anhydrous to stabilize it, so the application window is much wider. google N-Serve.
