We are finishing a cheescake bakery, and Tuesday I was sent to install the ceiling. It is 'car siding' (tongue and groove, 6 3/4" wide coverage). This is only over the 'customer' area, and it is an 'L' shape that is 50' x 12', plus another 38' x 12' to make the 'L'. The soffit has a radius, that I knew was going to complicate this job, but was towards the end of the run! Today was the day, 2 guys spent almost 3.5 hours on this area only! They want a caulk joint, by the way, so more time is required on this area!

Thanks for the compliment. Not even sure how I figured the radius! Had 1 guy on scaffold, started by scribing it, but as the radius went around, the scribe idea did not work at all. SO, I would do what I thought it needed, he would hold it up there, I would ask for a measurement, take it back, recut, that is why it took so long! We made sure we were seeming these, so these were the first in that row, after we liked this fit, then we would measure and cut in the rest of the row-seemed like the ONLY way to do this-1 piece would have been a nightmare!

To accurately get the cut the first time, you could have used a scribe to mark your planks. Just remember to keep your scribe square to the work at all times. Otherwise your cut will become crescent shaped! Looks good though, good job!!
