bought this 1997 last week, has the 7.5 and can run on lp too. She has 80k on it and its as clean as you can find. My first tank of gas had a lot of running aroung and town miles and I got 10.51. Its been cold so I hoping for a little more.

Nice! Partial to that vintage of truck myself. Thinking I'm in the market for a newer one with a v-10 soon though. Report back with mpg results if you can.

Yep, found it on there website in Lincoln and he was good enough to bring it to Blair for me to look at. I did make him take the Husker mud flaps off though!

Nice looking truck, great find. Mileage around town probably won't get much better, but that depends on how you drive it too.
This 96 crew cab I bought new and still have it. It's the 7.3 Powerstroke, and it only has about 65 thousand on the clock now. When I bought it, I said I would have it for many years to come and so far that's true. Don't drive it much these days due to the price of diesel, but when I do drive it I really enjoy it. It get's about 16 hwy. and 11 city, but it's automatic and not 4WD.

From a Dodge guy, thats a pretty good looking truck that you have yourself there. The most important thing is that it does what you need it to do when you need it to do it. Thems the kind of things that makes you happier.

You know? About a half year ago I bought a 2000 Jeep Cherokee and looking back at it, I don't know why really. At 6'2" and 300 pounds, its like a go cart to me. Its pretty small, but the rest of the family can use it. Its got an inline 6 and on the highway, it gets 18.5 MPG. Both my Cummins Dodges get 20 MPG or better on the highway. But, I have me a Jeep Cherokee just the same. Got a letter from the insurance company the other day asking me exactly how much of its total use is farm related. I don't know what to tell them. I've taken the dogs out on the property in it a few times. Its pretty small. Not nearly the cab room as my pickups and I kind of have to duck a little to see where I'm going. Dogs love it though.

Good luck with your new older truck. Use it in good health, and enjoy it.

I had a 77 F250, C6 auto 2X4 that with a big carb got about 13 on the highway and pulling something really heavy would get 11. So I would be looking at the gearing and the toqure curve. May be able to regear it and do much better.

I don't think its the cab mounts but there does appear to be something up with line up of the cab and bed (repaired wreck?). It appears to to be sitting to level for that to be frame flex.

I live in Kansas and I look south (to Oklahoma) for older trucks - almost everything in Nebraska is rusted though in 5-6 years and Kansas isn't a lot better. You can find an exception but the price reflects it.
