oil in water on 8n

Water blowing out might be unrelated to the no-start. Back to basics, is rad too full? Check for spark/fuel, get it running, before you jump to conclusions.

fine as in what #'s

so far you are reporting 2 things that are more or less mutually exclusive.

combustion pressure in the rad AND correct cyl compression...

i dont know if it was correct didnt use a gage just put my finger over the spark plug hole it seemed strong put dont know if correct

Pull the plugs out and crank it while watching the plug holes. Coolant blasting out of a plug hole identifies the guilty party. If you put each cylinder at tdc (one at a time) and put it in high gear lock the brakes, and put air pressure in the spark plug hole. (breaking the porcelain out of a used spark plug, and brazing in an air fitting will work, as will using the screw in part of a compression gauge, and an air fitting. The guilty party will again blow water out of the radiator. Jim

Suggest you check timing/ advance, wiring and valve timing. Get it running first, then see what the cooling system is doing. As long as there is no oil in the water, or vice versa, get it started.

that test and 5$ will get you 5$ of coffee.

test was useless as to compression.

all it would tell you is if you had a hung valve full open of full closed.

time for a COMPRESSION TEST

yep.. I've even used a rubber tip on a blowgun.

once you get 90 psi in there, you will know if it will bubble or not..

With out a better compression test sounds like you may have a blown head gasket. Many way to test that but you have to have the right tools to do it. A compression test with a gauge is one tool. Another is a tester that applies compressed air into the cylinder and you watch for what is called leak down. With the 2nd test you can watch for bubbles in the radiator and if you see them you know you have a blown head gasket

correct.

if you have awesome compression.. there shouldn't be any getting to the rad.

if you have dismal compression.. it makes sense.. etc..

thanks i will check with a gage but after what you have said i dont think it will be correct because i am getting exhaust smoke and water blowing out of the rad. if low compression where do i start looking
