Wow,you sure do have classy 1 room schoolhouses.
Kinda built like a castle compared to ours here in NY state! LOL
I hope somebody reroofs that beautiful barn before it winds up like too many others across the country!

Neat barn, looks like was added to later in it"s life. Too bad theowner hasn"t kept up the roofing. Love that one room school too. Used to be a lot of them around Michigan, too. But, they too have been let go, and many have been gone for years. At one time I had a vision of taking pictures of the old schools, but I never got to it. Now, it"s too late.....Thanks for sharing.

I grew up south of Lawrence. Nice to see pictures from around Lawrence. Most of my family still around that area. Do you know where the lake is about 8 miles south on Haskell? It's on the place where I grew up.

Man that barn must have been something in its' day. Imagine how it would have been bustling during morning chores. Dad and the hired man milking the cows and Grandpa doing some feeding. All done and back in the house by 7:00 A.M. for breakfast. How do you suppose you got the manure out of the center of the barn? Probably had a manure carrier out the other end. Do you think they had a carrier running through the leantu also or did they just pitch it out the windows? If those walls could talk you would hear some stories.
