the positive side of freezing temps.....

Been hanging around the frostmark the last few days and dipping down to 30 at night. Last night was 25 so the ground got fairly hard to the point of no mud... Supposed to stay at or below freezing the next 2 weeks so all the cooped up kids got turned out... Means the flunky gets to switch from shovelling poop to carrying hay and water and thawing (as apposed to unthawing  ) water tanks... Most fun was the three foals stretching out and racing on thier acre and a half........

Done now.....

Same thing going on here, for awhile, need that surface froze to run on, get those things done in the morning before it thaws, or if no sun, temps hold below, you might get the day out of it, but then it changes back, rains, we get dustings and small accumulations of snow, but after last years large amounts of snow, this ought to average out, municipalities around here sure are getting a break on de-icing and snow removal costs.

I wish I could get out there and get something done, but with a big ole incision on top of my foot, have to sit it out for a couple more weeks.

How is that BP doing, you get back to the doctor and make any progress ?

still waiting to get to the doc just to be sure but BP is almost perfect.... I love peanut butter but hadn't had any in a long time. got 3 big jars right at thanksgiving... about the time I started feeling blaaa... Wife mentioned it the other day and I stopped eating it and went uphill... was 133/78 after morning chores..... also dropped 6 pounds in a couple days. Believe I was having an allergic reaction to the peanutbutter....

You irritate the hell outta me too, but I can live with that... That BP was scarrin the hell outta me...

No kidding, well hey that's good news, having been to a cardio-vascular(term?) doctor several times recently for an unrelated issue, and seeing all the posters and pamphlets on things like this, some of it is a ticking bomb, that's some weight to carry on ones shoulders, not knowing, worry etc. Early detection on all these cardio-vascular problems sure seems to be the key. The variables in each of is is incredible for this, some people, thin, exercise eat healthy and or what have you still get it others don't. Hard to figure that out. I'm in the same age bracket, but BP is always textbook or a tad low, nurses always mention it too, however I don't take that for granted always room for improvement pr something to keep in check, Doc says whatever you are doing keep at it ! Good news, glad to hear that, ought to be a relief for you !

There was a peanut butter recall for bacteria in it. Maybe you got some of the tainted ones ?

Didn't know about it.... Won't be a problem for me tho.... Had my last... Wish I hadn't thrown the jar away now, just so I could look it up.....

The only good thing about freezing temps is that it slows the mosquitoes down a bit. They're a lot slower when they're wearing parkas.......

I don't know how they were out your way last summer, but they were as bad as I ever remember, I was finding them in my heated basement garage until last December. Gnats and small no see ums, flies or what have you were here all summer and early fall, darned things are miserable, had a bunch of them gang up and nail me over 2 dozen times on the legs while mowing the lawn, right inside my socks, hope this winter does em all in, send that -30 F for a week LOL !
