Great pics. Thanks for sharing. My Grandpa bought a Samson brand new. I have the original parts book for it with prices, some items so cheap you had to take 2 for a penney.I would like to find a real one of those tractors to restore. The horses are great, my dad always wanted one more real good team.I have his eveners for pulling 5 horse hitch on sulky plow. Thanks again scottz

I would think they would be extremely hard to find, weren't they only made for a couple years? Probably not many parts either. Sure would be neat to have though, take another pic in front of that same barn...

I was wondering about the barn, we have some old ones in our family too. the Samson was made in Janesville WI at what was last the GM plant. just closed a year or so ago. Gm bought the plant I guess to build a tractor to compete with Fordson. I think they stopped production for WW1 and never went back to tractors. Any Ideas as to what happened to the one in your pics? Was told my Grandpas got cut up for scrap in WW2. I did see a real one about 30 years ago in WI. Would be nice just to get a current picture of one. Thanks again. scottz

There is usually a couple that show up at the Thresheree on Labor Day weekend just north of Janesville WI every year, and usually a display with photos from their manufacturing days

Hi Guys,

I believe that the Rock County Historical Society has the fully restored Samson that was at the GM Janesville plant. It sat inside the plant at GM"s heritage hall with photos of the Samson plant under construction.

I put 15 years of life into that plant and stayed there as a skilled tradesman until we turned the lights out in 2009. No more GM for me.
