Willys FC 170

My latest purchase. 1962 Jeep FC170 four wheel drive with 226-6 engine. Had a utility body but was rusted out. Going to restore and put a flat bed on it.

Congratulations, great find! You never saw many of them, but I remember that as a twelve year old that the adds on TV made a big impression on me. I thought that they would sell millions of them.

You migh look at the utility bed if it was original their will be a slab of steel like 2 inches thick and about 20 inches by 30 in or so mounted right over the rear axel, to make the truck ballance.Depending on what you use for a flat bed you may have to add weight. Looks like a real sound cab.
What does it have for windshield wipers,, vacum or elecric? Will make a nice toy.

As surprising as it sounds many of the body parts for those can still be found new. Some company in India makes em.

Pretty cool, I've always wondered just how much head and leg room they have.

I always thought they were kinda cool. My BIL had one for sale a couple months ago but it was pretty rusty. Someone here in Asheboro, N.C. has one that has a good looking body on it. Have never seen it being driven. Has sat in their yard for several years.

We had a International/Willys dealer in the town I grew up in. The FC and PU's were real popular as were the station wagons. Of course that was back int he day of dirt roads and no salt on the snow. Most are long gone.

I know a guy has 2 FC's locally. I could probably get them for cheap if I'd work at it.

I scrapped out a terribly rusty one, to get the
226 cubic inch six cylinder, for use in a 51
Willys pickup. I still have the axles, front is
a Dana 44, Rear is a Dana 53, both are 5:12-1
ratio.

used to feed cows with one of thoose. Low range low gear bungee on steering wheel. Would go anywhere and even if I fell off no problem to catch up with it.
