Evil bay item #260897078593 Is this guy for real a running CK 30 going to crusher if it don't sell??

I think it's a bluff for someone to use the "buy it now". The auction is at $1275, he couldn't get that much in scrap.

Yeah prolly a bluff. BUT i did DRIVE an old john deere b to the scrapper this summer. I was asking 800obo for it. Got tired of lookin at it fired it up and had the wife pick me up at omnisource. So you never know. P.S. i made sure they tore her up pretty good before i left.

Given some of the posts that show up on here now and then, folks complaining (to put it mildly) about getting taken on things, demanding a full refund, dragging people through the mud for selling them something that was worn out 50 years ago but they bought it anyway to "save" it,and still they say they got taken,I don't blame somebody for taking something right to the crusher and getting a good check that they can take to the bank from somebody that's not gonna come back bichin tomorrow dragging their name through the mud.

Whew, longest sentence ever posted, but I was on a roll. I feel better now.

Then there's the other side of it,sellers getting bad checks,no payment at all or the stuff is still sitting there a year after it was sold.

Done now.

The current bid is 1,200, and the reserve is higher? The tractor is worth about $700 - $800 as scrap steel, in mt estimate. If he were unable to get the value of the tractor of scrap, I would say that he might consider it, yet, he is being offered at bid higher amounts than he would get for scrap, and he is still not letting it go, so I doubt that he is going to scrap it, yet. He want more money. It is possible that he thinks the scrap price is $1900, yet, that's foolishness.

Workin fine, but if you read many of thses posts you could see why nobody would ever want to sell anything to anybody.

i seen somebody do it with a ford 8000 tractor before. was in ohio and he put in the ad if it dont bring 1500 for the reserve he was going to scrap it. i called the guy but he said he sold the 3pt arms and he wanted 2500. i said im not. he soposely sold the tires and scrapped the rest. i hope he didnt but he seeemed real serouse.

Jocco, I don't buy things off Ebay, but here is my take. You noticed that the reserve isn't met at $1275, and it has a buy now option of $1900? I suspect that his reserve is pretty close, if it isn't a full $1900. Unless someone pays the full asked But Now Price, I feel confident that it will appear next week with somestory of how the last buyer didn't come through or something to that effect. If he were prepared to accept scrap prices for his Cockshutt, $1275 would have easily met the reserve.

Had the same thing happen about this time last year only locally. A guy in town had a 94' F-150 4X4 short bed in his yard for sale, it had sat there for about 6 months. On a lark I stopped and looked it over. 235,000+ miles most of the exhaust including the cats laying on the ground under it and ALL the rear spring hangers were rusted to the point they were broke. He only wanted $1,700 and if he couldn't get that it was going to the crusher. I gave him my card and offered him a grand for it and left. He called me twice in the following 2 weeks and came down to $1,200 but no lower. I didn't need the truck so I declined and would not budge from my offer, he said he was going to scrap it then. Told him ok. It sat there another couple weeks then it was gone. I never did hear where it went but I imagine somebody got a good deal on it, were pretty stupid or a scrapper finally got it.

bob hONESTLY A RUNNING CK30 WIDE FRONT IS WORTH $1900 IN THIS AREA. I too highly doubt he will scrap it, Your right about $600 in scrap value.

Okay go on eBay and search project cars -hit highest price first. Now there is some stuff that should have been crushed years ago.We still have two wars going -scrap ain't crap. That little greasy guy is a millionaire.

Jocco, I'm not dening that the tractor is worth the $1900. I'm just saying that if he were willing to accept the scrap price for his tractor, the $1275 that was the current bid this morning would have exceeded the reserve. If someone was prepared to send a tractor to the scrap yard, the reserve would only be slightly higher than scrap value.
