when I push the levers forward they engage the pump ,but pulling back does not, acks like oneway hydraulics, what is wrong? I need twoway hydraulics

If you are using the Hydra-touch there is a switch on top of the controls behind the dash that you need to switch. I believe the lever needs to be to the right side.

I am having a hard time remembering the 300 series, but the 400 I remember, had holes/plugs in the hood above each valve. By removing the plugs you could access the top of the valve which had flats milled on each side, by turning this top you could make the valve either 3 way or 4way. I think the 300 was the same.

No cowl holes on a 300 as opposed to a 350. You have to remove the right side sheet to gain access to the single or double selector.

If it is like the 450 a friend has and a 300U it has a selector thing that you need to move so as to switch from single acting to double acting. Not all that hard to do if out in the open but a pain if covered by sheet metal
