graphite cord rear main seals???

anyone had one STOP leaking????? My little tractor was pouring oil out. Had the seal replaced and it started leaking in a few days......FF a few months and it hasn't leaked in a couple weeks (used daily)...... not complaining, just wondering if I am imagining things.....

Typical.. the more you use them , the more they swell up and seal... at least in thery. apparently your seals read the book.

He's correct. They need to be bathed in oil to swell and seal effectivly. Use it or lose it they say. Case in point...my '66 GTO which came new with those type seals, when i just let it sit in the shop the speedo would get stiff , the fuel guage was eratic and the rear main leaked and factory tach would stick. Two trips to the drag strip on test/tune night and about 10 full bore runs later , every one of those problems dissapeared! Sure run better also. Ya can't baby this stuff. Use it or lose it.
