Better selling than buying

The price of steel is great if you're taking stuff to the crusher, but WOW! I had a water line in the barn that was about as solid as a screen door,so I replaced it yesterday. 21 foot length of 3/4 inch galvanized pipe.......$90. Unbelievable.

I watch for stuff like that at auctions. Years ago pd about 50 for pipe and fittings worth $3-400. Haven"t used them up yet, even after adding 8 dairy stalls back then.

This was at the local hardware store. 1 21 footer,1 10 foot,one 18 inch,an elbow and a coupler,over $133.

back in 08 a hardware store wanted Me to pay $35.00 for a 5' piece! pipe is a lot cheaper now than it was back then.

We have a True Value that sells, stocks and prices at what True value tells them to. 3" pvc at Tru Value $20, at the box stores $7, so it might be where you"re buying.

Thursday I was reinstalling a cast iron radiator after sand blast and painting. We moved it about 4 inches so couldn't reuse the old iron pipe.
Went to Menards to get 1 stick of 3/4 copper pipe, four 3/4 X 1" male adapters, two 90° elbows and two 45° elbows.
The price was $75 and some change.
Glad I wasn't spending my own money!
