the garden didnt fare so well with all the rain, and the pumpkin patch doesnt look too good either, the neighbor had some sweet corn ready and he told us to pick some,they froze corn saturday,, We picked some pumpkins also. The tomatoes and squash are done now the rain did them in

It was just not a good year for the garden. My tomatoes did not amount to anything and anything I have bought is not worth canning. I have not looked at any of the potatoes for a while so I don't know about them. Corn (field or sweet) just does not look good but the bought sweet corn was pretty good with sizable ears this week. All in all I guess I will have to regroup for next year.
 
my neighbors grandmother said she does not remember an august like we had, her potato patch is in trouble with all the water,she is not happy., PA dutch really like potatoes,I did plant one row real early for her and she has been driving to it with her riding mower and wagon and digging some each day all summer
 
Well.... All I have to say is that is a alot better then ours turned out.. This was the worst garden we ever had :cry:
 
Hi Pal. As you requested in our phone conversation, I"m returning to Y.T. For how long? I don"t know. Sorry about your troubles and your loss. Pictures of your garden is great viewing how ever, the rain did a job on you folks. All the work that went in to it, Tractor, Tiller, fertilizer, time to plant, etc makes it difficult to realize what it takes to put in such a swell garden, and see the damage the continued rain can do . Maybe Next year pal.NEVER GIVE UP. Regards LOU

Didn"t see any watermelons in the bed of your truck.

Been so dry here in NE Texas there are no watermelons; only melons.
